Provides lists of funds that Austin expects to receive and those for which the city believes it may be eligible.  The site also contains memos relating to the ARRA and news clips.  No project specific information is available. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Baltimore, MD

Explains the Mayor's BERT team (Baltimore Economic Recovery Team), which is charged with ensuring job creation for Baltimore residents through ARRA funds.  The site contains RFPs for various programs funded through ARRA and reporting guidance from a few city departments.  Currently, no project information is available. Boston, MA

Claims it will contain "regular updates on what federal funds are coming to Boston and where those funds are being invested. As projects are funded, the site will place increasing focus on where the money is going and the status and impact of investments." Status of contractor information: none.

 

Charlotte, NC

Breaks down ARRA-provided funds by program and provides information about competitive grant programs and other information that would be useful for would-be recipients of stimulus funds.  Status of contractor information: none.

 

Chicago, IL

Run through Mayor Daley's office.  It primarily contains press releases from the mayor's office, but it includes some reference material about the types and amounts of funds the city expects to receive.  One presentation contains a list of expected transportation allocations. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Dallas, TX

Invites users to "check back frequently as the City will continue to refine this website and will include tools that will allow visitors to track and monitor the progress of its ARRA-funded projects."  At its current stage of development, it contains just a few City Council briefings. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Denver, CO

Provides a list of competitive and formula-based grants awarded to the city. Links to state and federal recovery resources are also provided.  No project descriptions are available. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Fort Worth, TX

Displays information about competitive and formula-based funds the city has received/applied for by department and amount.  The site has no project-specific information but asks users to "check back often to learn the latest about programs, projects and funding that are relevant to the region." Status of contractor information: none.

 

Fresno, CA

Provides lists of projects supported by the Mayor and City Council for ARRA funding. The City of Fresno Purchasing Division handles bid opportunities through an online purchasing management system which is linked from the city's recovery page. Links to state and federal website resources are also posted.  Status of contractor information: none.

 

Houston, TX

Controller Annise Parker has devoted a portion of her website to tracking stimulus funds in the city.  The funds are reported in large aggregate amounts on a spreadsheet.  The site also contains a list of shovel-ready projects, but neither spreadsheet has been updated recently.  The site also includes a few resource links for applying for federal funds. Indianapolis, IN

Lists the amount and types of funds the city expects to receive through the ARRA. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Jacksonville, FL

Contains resources for individuals and small businesses on how they can benefit from ARRA funds.  No project tracking is available. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Long Beach, CA

Provides an overview of the ARRA, a matrix of proposed projects, estimated fiscal impact studies, and links to state and federal recovery resources. The City Council has developed stimulus guidelines which are posted online. The City Auditor has also posted a statement of commitment to transparency and accountability in the implementation of stimulus funds. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Los Angeles, CA

Contains mainly spreadsheet lists of grants for which the city has applied and lists of programs such as tax credits available to residents.  Status of contractor information: none.

 

Louisville, KY

The city has created the Louisville at Work Team to direct stimulus spending. In addition, teams have been created to focus on separate categories of projects, such as transportation & infrastructure. A schedule of upcoming Work Team meetings is posted on the site. Links are also provided to state and federal resources, as well as stimulus-related news updates. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Memphis, TN

Contains information about ARRA funding broken down by agency.  Also included are FAQs and press releases.  Status of contractor information: none.

 

Mesa, AZ

Provides general information about ARRA and a list of potential ARRA opportunities, with links to state and federal resources. Lists of Formula Grants and Competitive Grants awarded to Mesa are also provided. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Miami, FL

Provides a list of department grant applications and brief descriptions of a few green stimulus project proposals. A link is posted to the Mayor's website for an outline of local stimulus implementation plans. Additional links to state and federal recovery resources are also provided. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Milwaukee, WI

Contains information about the types and amounts of funds the city is receiving through ARRA.  There are lists of projects the city has submitted to federal agencies. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Minneapolis, MN

Offers a variety of resources. The city created an Economic Recovery Team to oversee stimulus implementation. Eventually city applications and approved grants will be posted. Advice is provided on how to monitor or participate in public City Council meetings regarding the stimulus. A large number of resources are provided for Individual and Family Assistance. Employment and business resources are promised. Visitors can submit feedback through an online form. Links to state and federal recovery resources are provided. New York City, NY

NYC Stimulus Tracker, or NYCStat, is run out of Mayor Bloomberg's Office of Operations.  It is designed specifically to allow the public to:

  • See how funding sources are distributed to building projects and other City programs.
  • Track key performance measures showing how these projects and programs benefit the City.
  • Drill down to see details of the process, such as the start and end dates of construction projects, and the status of contracting steps for outsourced projects.
  • See an interactive map of certain project and program locations.

The site is designed with an intuitive user interface, but it does not allow the download of data, nor does it (yet) disclose contract awards.

 

Omaha, NE

Has links to state and federal recovery resources as well as details on various projects, including descriptions, funding levels, and staff contacts. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Philadelphia, PA

Intended to be a comprehensive website to both inform citizens of Recovery Act opportunities and disclose uses of ARRA funds by the city.  The site aims to provide:

  • Up-to-date information on the status of each of the City's Recovery applications and projects;
  • Project details, including start and end dates of construction projects, location, progress, and associated contractors;
  • Information on contracting opportunities;
  • The number of jobs created or saved through Recovery efforts; and
  • News and reports.

Phoenix, AZ

Provides basic information about the ways in which the city will receive stimulus funds, but it does not disclose amounts of money the city has received or expects to receive.  News releases on the website provide information about some projects funded with Recovery Act funds, but there is no online reporting system on the site. Portland, OR

Provides an overview of the ARRA and answers to basic recovery-related questions. Links to state and federal recovery resources are provided.  There is a project list which includes descriptions and funding details. Contract and Vendor information is not currently available. San Antonio, TX

Website is hosted through city's Office of Management and Budget.  The site is a resource for city council agenda items, recovery strategies, and spending strategies related to ARRA funds. Status of contractor information: none.

 

San Diego, CA

According to city press release, San Diego's Stimulus Tracker "was created as a resource for anyone interested in monitoring the stimulus program and is part of the Mayor's continuing pledge to maintain transparency and up-to-date information about the program."  The site does not contain project-specific information, but it divides the funds being received by the city into broad categories. Status of contractor information: none.

 

San Francisco, CA

Contains resources for residents, discloses the funds of which the city is in receipt, and signifies that it will disclose contract and grant awards "when ARRA funds have been fully awarded and obligated to San Francisco the approved expenditure plan."  Site users can access the city's recovery plan, read regularly updated news releases, and find contracting opportunities funded through the ARRA. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Seattle, WA

Contains overviews of funding requested and received by the city for both formula allocations and competitive grant applications.  These funds are further broken down by program and by project, although contracts and job creation are not disclosed on the site.   Projects are described in detail along with their current award but not status. Status of contractor information: none.

 

Tulsa, OK

Provides an overview of the ARRA and links to state and federal recovery resources. Mayor Taylor has created the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Coordinating Council, which will be led by Cathy Criswell, Tulsa's Chief Risk Officer. The city has created its own timeline and provided details on Formula and Competitive Grants. Status of contractor information: none.
